Types of Water-Cooled Condenser

• Tube in tube (double-tube) – During operations, water is pumped into the condenser’s inner tube while the refrigerant flows into the outer tube. This way a countercurrent flow is maintained to reach a high heat-transfer efficiency.
• Shell and coil – This condenser is designed with one or more coils that are enclosed in a properly soldered shell. Shell and coil are the most compact condenser and are considered the least expensive option.  
• Shell and tube – In this condenser, water is pumped through the pipes and refrigerant flows into the shell. Many shell & tube condenser manufacturers in India install fins in the shell to provide better heat transfer. These are cost-effective condensers normally used in large chemical processing plants.
